Project management is a common aspect in every larger company, whether it produces software or distributes programs on a global scale. Of course, they can invest large sums of money in commercial packages for project management. But there are also some alternative, open source solutions like ZenTaoPMS.

PMS stands for Project Management System (as men will be relived to learn), and ZenTao, derives from some fundamental elements of the Chinese culture indicting the main principles followed by the authors of the program. They intended to create a comfortable and universal program that would constitute a reliable alternative to some paid systems.

ZenTao is based on the open source technology and offers all the functions that an entrepreneur needs – product, project and bug management, test management, managing documents, to-do lists and many other functions coming in a single comfortable package. It also offers the function of scrum, that is logging in, drawing history charts, etc. Being an open source package, it can be developed and adjusted to the company’s requirements. Therefore, it is an excellent solution for some larger firms that need a customizable tool. It does not require any external software or environment installed.

Thanks to its open architecture its functions can be easily developed by means of plug-ins.
