Pencil 0.4.4b

Pencil is a small but very friendly program addressed to all users, regardless of their age or skills. It allows us to quickly create simple animations by means of its user-friendly interface. It is not a substitute for professional graphic and animation programs but only a tool for those who would like to produce some simple animations.

This is cross-platform program, supporting systems from Windows and Linux, to Mac OS X. Unlike many other programs of this type, its main aim is to create traditional stop motion in bitmap and vector formats. This is reflected in the program’s functions as it is much easier to produce a traditional animation than an animation intended for the Internet (although it is still easier than in professional graphic programs). At the same time the program is friendly enough to be suitable for some younger computer users.
The program’s interface is transparent and comfortable but in order to be able to take the full advantage of the program’s potential, we need a tablet which offers greater precision than a mouse. However, good news is that the program does not require installation: all we have to do is just unpack the archive to any folder and we can enjoy the program’s functions.
