Synfig Studio is a free, open source program for editing two-dimensional graphics. The application offers powerful and efficient functions combined with a user-friendly interface. The program is universal and bound to live up to everyone’s expectations, whether amateurs or professionals in the field of 2D animation.
The program allows us to create animations in less time and with less effort than in the case of other programs of this type. Thanks to using bitmaps as well as vector graphics, the process of creating animation is partly automated and there’s no need to use stop motion. This is possible thanks to a range of advanced functions such as using vector elements so that when we change the target resolution, only the imported raster images are pixellised. Also, all crucial animation frames are automatically enhanced by the program regardless of the user’s decision. The program also allows us to use the so-called floating-point math in calculating the image looks so that the animations can use a much wider light palette and achieve greater light effects, color composition and HDR effect.
At the same time the program is user-friendly. Its logical and hierarchically-structured interface works best on tablets and an excellent image control will produce great effects of work and a nice-looking animation. Even beginner animators are bound to be satisfied with the program.
