Windows is equipped with plenty of functions. However, given its versatility, it lacks one vital function: automatically switching off the computer after a certain time. A small and free PC Sleep ensures exactly that.
It is a small program created by Nate Vernieu, which enables the user to program the computer so that it switches off after a certain period of time. This is its main function, but not the only one. Apart form switching the computer off, the application also allows us to program its stand-by, hibernation, user’s log out or the system restart. The user may program it in one of the two ways: either to switch off at a given time, or after a given period of time. Its interface is very simple and transparent and the program itself is reliable and works without any problems. It displays time left before a given action is performed and enables the user to cancel and reprogram it.
The program requires the .NET environment to work. Although the website informs us that it only works with 1.1 version, PC Sleep 2.1 can also be installed on some newest versions of .NET.
To sum up, this simple program is virtually indispensable for anyone who would like to save energy and have the right amount of sleep. You no longer have to wait for hours until the files or games are downloaded. You simply set the time limit with PC Sleep and that’s it!
