Everyone of us has got, or used to have, files to be deleted permanently. These might be, for instance, some embarrassing documents, recordings, graphic or multimedia files. An amateur would say that all we have to do is just delete them and empty the bin. However, those in the know are aware that a good IT specialist or a computer user with a good program can easily recover the deleted files as they are still on the disk. The operating system only removes the fact that they are there. In order to eliminate them for good, we have to use a special program such as FileKiller.
This miniature (only 22 KB) program provides invaluable assistance to all those who want to quickly and permanently delete any number of files. By means of a simple and transparent interface, the user selects the files to be removed, as well as the methods the program is to use: FileKiller may delete the files and overwrite data on the disk with randomly chosen bits, using an ASCII character selected by the user, or to empty the space taken by the file. The user also specifies how many times the program is supposed to perform this procedure: from one to even a hundred times (when you really want to get rid of some files for good without any risk of accessing them by third parties).
Filekiller does not require installation, it only needs the .NET software to work. There are no limits as regards the size of the file to be removed. Each one, even a several-GB file will be deleted by this small application. The program’s mall size is an advantage since it can be carried on flash drives.
