The Windows Notepad is a very primitive tool: it offers practically no functions (apart from restarting the formatting process) and is totally useless. Therefore, it’s good to replace this program with another one that offers a lot of options and is reliable, such as Notepad++.
It is a free, open source and GLP-licensed program substituting the Windows Notepad and excellent for editing source codes (apart from the function of making notes and formatting them). It is one of its main functions and enables us to mark and roll up the program’s elements, to work on multiple tabs and view several documents at the same time, as well as offers us the drag-and-drop mechanics. The application also offers optimized programs’ code and, therefore, it does not put a strain on system resources or computer components. Thus, it reduces the electricity consumption and (as pointed out by its author) the greenhouse effect. This is thanks to the Scintilla component and C++ programming language, so that the program can use API Win32 and STL. In short, it works fast, efficiently and saves energy.
Its interface has been designed in order to be maximally ergonomic and simple in use but at the same to offer a wide variety of options. The program is available in more than fifty language versions, including the Polish one. It can also be installed as a portable tool directly from the USB memory.
