Time Sync 2.0.2

Time is the most interesting dimension. A system clock in a computer is based on how it is set when we first open the computer so it might not always be precise. And it often isn’t. A clock that precisely measures time is a very important tool, particularly significant when setting the scheduler. Time Sync created by Karen Kenworth is an excellent application for synchronizing the system clock.

What can it do? It enables the user to synchronize the system clock with a selected server, with the accuracy to the thousandth digit after the decimal point. The program offers several dozens of servers including three Polish ones: one belonging to a private company and two belonging to public firms: Cyfronet Academic Computer Centre in Krakow and Astrogeodynamic Observatory in Borowiec. Although the program may seem to be just a gadget, it is highly useful for automating time settings when the CMOS battery runs flat or in some other unexpected situations. The program supports an automatic periodical synchronization as well as manual synchronization. An additional option is creating and providing access to one’s own time server that other servers may refer to.

The program has got a comfortable and transparent interface. All the options are divided into clear tabs. Time Sync does not take up a lot of disk space and it allows the user to finally have a precise clock in their operating system and this is its most important advantage.
