The vast majority of programs for learning astronomy is limited to displaying the Earth and our Solar System. But Celestia is different. This universal, multiplatform program enables its users to travel in the entire universe.

This program has been created in order to enable students and amateur astronomers as well as more advanced astronomy enthusiasts to travel in space and watch, for instance, the Earth from the point of view of an astronaut in a space shuttle or Saturn from the point of view of the Cassino space probe. The program is totally free and constantly being developed, offering the opportunity to add new elements created by computer programmers using the open source nature of Celestia. One of the greatest advantages of the program is that it is uniform – there are no such things as loading zones. The application loads everything during our space travel. The program has already been appreciated by a lot of users: more than six thousand six hundred people belong to Celestia forum and over three million downloads prove the great popularity and quality of the program. The application is constantly developed and there are more than eighteen gigabytes of program extras which enable the user not only to explore space in more detail but also explore fictional stellar systems from the Star Trek series or Star Wars films. The program also allows us to use special scripts which automate our journey.
